Term 2 Week 9 ALMOST THE HOLIDAYS!

I can't believe that it is almost the holidays. This term has gone so fast.

I got into the finals for Science Fair and my brother got 2nd for his category. I didn't get a placing but "Go Ethan." There are some things that I have to tweak and I might go to the Waikato Finals. We started Music this week and we learnt some notes on the ukulele and the keyboard. We got to compose some music on the keyboard and play 'Hey Soul Sister" by train on the ukulele. It was fun. We also had Belmont Intermediate come to have a sports exchange. Te Awamutu Intermediate had people go up there too. It sucks that the weather was terrible. We also played soccer in the A.L.C. Sadly not as good as this.

TERM 2 WEEK 8!

I know I have'n't been posting any blog posts lately but other things got in the way.

Last week (week 7) I got to compete against St Patrick's school in indoor bowls and Kaia & I ended up getting 2nd in the tournament, because we were in pairs. Then I was going to go to a competition in Hamilton but Gymsport Festival is on the same day and I committed to that first so I can't do indoor bowls.

Monday morning (after interval) we played volleyball and I found it really fun. You have to work as a team and use all your players if you want to succeed. 

In Tech Arts on Tuesday we made paper planes and Kaleb taught me how to make a really cool plane. Turns out, I already knew how to make it, I just forgot how to. It was our 2nd to last session. 

Thursday we had our WIMS Music day and Ethan, Angel and I represented choir. The songs we sung were Skyfall, Shut up and dance and Hello/One call away. It was a hard days work, but it was fun. We also had Junior TALOS choir again and I really enjoyed it, again. We learnt some more games and a couple of new songs for our production.

Friday was our last session in Science and we had to make an octagonal pyramid out of scissors, 40 straws and tape. It was fun. We did'nt finish because we ran out of straws. The hard bit was it was an octagonal pyramid. Like this.

Term 2 Week 6 This year is going so fast.

There was no school on Monday because it was Queens Birthday. It's not her actual birthday, but it's when everyone celebrates it.
At Science, on Tuesday, we finished our marble runs. I was certain that ours would come last because when we timed ours it was 5 seconds, but Patrick & Max's marble roll faltered so the time was 0 seconds. 

This week we finally got to try out Indoor Bowls. I learnt that there is a flatter side & a rounder side. The flatter side goes on the inside and the rounder on the outside, so that when you roll, you aim for close to the outside to curl inside. I was pretty good so I get to trial for a competition. That was also really fun.

Again Thursday is music day. I learnt that I am getting really good. I am also going to WIMS Music Day on the 23rd, representing choir with my brother and someone else. I also learnt some new songs in Choir, like "We Go Together" and "River of Dreams." We go together is a song from "Grease" which has a lot of made up words like rama-lama-lama and chang-chang-changity-chang-cha-chang.

This week I've been inside at lunchtimes so I learnt to get my work in on time or suffer the consequences.

On Wednesday afternoon we finally had our Winter Games.
I learnt how to play Karatu Ball Tag.
It's really fun.  

Term 2 Week 5

Mrs Crowe wasn't here on Monday or Tuesday so we had relievers.

On Monday we had assembly, which was boring, but after interval we were meant to have volleyball at 11;00, yet Mr McCabe talked to us about the problems of the world and how we don't care and we're greedy creatures. Because of that I did'nt get much work done.

Also it was the first time I got to go back to tumbling at gymnastics. I managed to get back in to gym pretty well.

On Tuesday we had science and because Ethan & I weren't here last Friday, we were far behind in our marble run. We had to create a marble run using the following. 2 pieces of big card, 1 marble, tape, scissors and pencil. Ethan and I are like 1/4 (quarter) way finished.

After school I had my saxophone lesson. I'm doing a lot better at my alto saxophone.

On Wednesday, Mrs Crowe returned from her teaching course, was way behind with my work. So I had to stay in at lunch.

On Thursday, well, it's basically my musical day now. In the morning I have Senior Band. I learnt some new pieces such as: Royals, Riptide, Hawaii Five-Oh and Lady Madonna. After interval I have Jazz Band and I got a solo in Moves like Jagger by Maroon Five. After that it's school singing. Then after lunch I have choir. We basically just practiced some songs because Whaea Rangi wasn't here today.

And that was my week.    

Term 2 Week 4

What happened this week?

TERM 2 WEEK 1

Now it's Term 2 and I'm pumped about this term and what comes from it.
Monday we had a Powhiri to welcome our new Japanese teacher "Etsko" and Room 6's new teacher for when their teacher goes on maternity leave.  On Tuesday in the morning of course we did Tech Arts. I'm doing pretty good with my truck. I've got the sides and the bottom of my truck done and I've cut out the wheels. I've learnt how to use a lot of tools and machines because of Design. Also how to FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS! We also did some maths like Monday. I had my saxophone practice after school. I think that I am getting better. On Wednesday some students in our class did this problem solving Otago University test. I don't know how well I did but hopefully I did good. On Thursday morning we had some band practice. We got a new piece of music that is really popular and classic. "Supercalifrajelisticexpealadocius." Hard to spell right? We also had choir practice which was pretty normal. On Friday morning it was Tech Arts and well let's just say the sanding machine and I bonded. I accidentally slipped when I was sanding the front of my wheel and made a good flatspot on my finger and gave my stomach a graze. Here's my finger now.
   

Term 1 Week 11, FINAL WEEK!

This week we had 2 days of actual school. Monday in the morning we had English and I can't remember what we actually did. After interval we had some finishing off maths and after lunch we had PC, otherwise known as Pubertal Change. So many people were disgusted by the undeniable truth. Everyone would also laugh at some funny stuff like penis growths and wet dreams and disgusting stuff. On Tuesday morning we had Tech Arts. My truck is getting better. I cut out my wheels and I learnt how to finish the truck. Unfortunately I'm not finished yet. After interval I finished all my maths. Yay. After lunch we watched a video about PC. We also finished it off. I sighed of relief that the facts of creepiness was over. The next day we left for camp at Narrows Christian Camp which is 20 minutes away. It's still really fun. I learnt how to fall on my face, take a hit from a paintball, ride a go-kart, make a fire, get the red at archery, twist my leg in rope, shoot with an air rifle, run from carnivores, score a three in basketball, ride 27 laps on a go-kart track on a bmx bike, and back flip on a mattress. A fun-filled friendly 3 days. Narrows is awesome. I can't wait for Term 2.

Term 1 Week 10 :)

This week we did so much math. We learnt about angles and how to use a protractor.
Here are the angles.

Acute: Less than 90 degrees.
Right: 90 degrees.
Obtuse: 90-180 degrees.
Straight: 180 degrees.
Reflex: 180-360 degrees.
We also learnt how to draw circles and triangles with a compass and no protractor.
We also found out that Waipa won inter house Summer Games.
In Tech Arts I managed to jam my finger, tightening my wood, trying to drill a hole.
I can't wait for camp next week!

Term 1 Week 8 & 9

Week 8

Monday:
After assembly we went to tech arts to catch up on last week when our teacher Mr Graham wasn't here.

Tuesday:
First thing in the morning we had our first tech arts lesson. I have cut out the sides of my truck so far.

Wednesday:Our water cycle explanations were due today but due to lack of concentration mine had not been completed yet. Ethan and I also had our student leg conferences and mum was impressed. YAY!

Thursday:
In the first block I had music and our music teacher Mrs Germann decided that we should practice with senior band and it went really well. After lunch we had choir but unfortunately Whaea Rangi was absent.

And then there was Easter weekend 

Week 9

Wednesday:
It's my birthday. We gave everybody little Easter eggs and went to French Class in the afternoon. Then Jump Jam was as sweaty as ever.

Thursday:
I had junior band practice in the morning. Then the Year 7's did their brain inquiry. In the afternoon it was the inter house summer games where I played softball for my house Mangapiko.

Friday:
Today in Tech Arts, I was cutting out my window in my wooden truck when the blade went all the way to the outside of the truck. So now I start again.

Term 1 Week 7 :)

This week was splendid, I can't wait for next week.

On Monday we had assembly and did some English work.

On Tuesday I finally finished my bag in tech arts. I'm pleased with the outcome. I also scraped my leg. OUCH!

On Wednesday, when I was on matheletics I got 150 credits from one test. I also did Jump Jam and our class won. I also cracked my voice. Now it's really painful.

On Thursday we  did some stuff that I've already forgotten. Silly me.

On Friday we had our farewell assembly for the Makuhari students from Japan. I was also hit in the eye with a tennis ball.

So that was my week.

Term 1 Week 6

This week was epic. We practised our sentence structure and about FANBOYS and AAAWWUBBIS words. The golden rule with AAAWWUBBIS words if they're in the middle of a sentence then there is no comma. FANBOYS are for compound sentences and AAAWWUBBIS are for complex.

On Tuesday we got back in to our bags in Tech Arts and we did our class boating lesson with the swim safety people. I also had another after school practice for Alto Saxophone.

On Wednesday I forgot what we did. On Thursday our Head Students were decided and they are Amy, Raiha, Cheng-Yu, and Matthew. Also the Makuhari students arrived from Japan.

On Friday we welcomed our Makuhari students with a Powhiri and we had a regular and did Tech Arts as well.

Term1 Week5 Fun

This week was fun. On Tuesday I finished my cushion at tech arts and it's so comfortable but smells horrible. We also caught up with our P.A.T Spelling test. On Friday it was Inter House Swimming and I was terrible, because I suck at swimming. I came last at nearly every race. Other than that this week was pretty cool. 

Week 4 Term 1

On Monday it was school swimming heats .This week I had my first saxophone lesson. I learnt a B, an A, and a G. That was on Tuesday. On Wednesday at lunchtime I was picked up because I got sick. I was pretty good on Thursday morning when we went to the Te Awamutu Museum and I was about to do softball but Mrs Crowe cancelled it because Ben wasn't going to be playing. I had a pretty good lunch and at our first choir practise I nearly fainted so I was picked up there too. Neither Ethan or I went to school Friday because apparently I have a virus and Ethan is the next target. So that was my week.

Week 3 Term 1

This week has been super fun. I learnt how to sew with a sewing machine and it's not as easy as it looks. I still suck at it but maybe I'll get better. Only time will tell. Our 4 P.A.T tests were challenging and fun. I got the highest scores out of the year 7s in maths and grammar and stanine 8 in reading comprehension but I haven't heard about vocabulary. I can't wait to see what next week brings.  

Term 1 Week 2

This week we had Minor Games and my house Mangapiko came 2nd. It got really hot on Friday. I managed to finish my indoor tennis ball in tech art. I can't wait until next week.

Term 1 Week 1

My first week at T.A.I has been so much fun, I've seen my old friends, made new ones, and just had a good time. I never imagined what intermediate would be this much fun, but now I miss Pekerau and being a kid. INTERMEDIATE IS AWESOME!
